RE: Any home insurance recommendations?
strangely after posting this I renewed mine in November... Swift Cover were cheaper on renewal than the previous year, however Legal & General were within £10 of swift, but with £100 M&S Vouchers to swap...
Yesterday they arrived... total cost £84 Buildings & Contents with accidental cover/bikes, and away from home cover!

just sorted that out, and then got a reminder car insurance is due for renewal next month, that will have to wait until next month's pay day :(
RE: Any home insurance recommendations?
it's that time of year again, interestingly the email from my provider, asked me to ring them for the price of renewal, and they've tried to ring me a couple of times.
quick search on comparethemarket turns up a few cheaper than what I paid last year, so I can phone them up, and see what they're offering, if they can price match the best price I'd better get a cuddly toy ;) The didn't turn up the comparison site.

Usually results in endless 'Yes but they don't offer and we do offer' discussions.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

it's that time of year again, price has gone up by £20 for a renewal, go to compare the market, same insurer is cheaper than last year, by £20!
RE: Any home insurance recommendations?
so I emaield them the other day, and wa told to use live chat/phone them, so I just used live chat.
I was offered the opportunity to reduce premium by £15 by increasing excess by £50, so told them about the price for new business I had been offered. they told me they couldn't match that, as that had new business discounts, even though it's same insurance company!
so cancelled the renewal, and will now buy new business, oh well, at least we get a new meerkat as well as saving money ;)

RE: Any home insurance recommendations?
Would advise not going for cheap cover, as six years ago with storm damage on house roof and garages, I had the biggest fight on my hands trying to get a payout, as the company kept quoting I was in breach of their small print, (as I had not quoted I had two garages instead of one. They are adjoining).
It took me the threat of going to my company lawyer for compensation, to get them to cough up the cash, and even then it was like getting blood from a stone, from their assessor, who was well versed in minimum payout.
MORAL: I now go for mid range pricing on house insurance, and watch the small print, which you never usually read.
RE: Any home insurance recommendations?
bah, again renewal for house insurance comes through post, about £30 more than last year, go to comparison site, new business with that company is £20 cheaper than I paid last year, but the best quote, from a different company, is £30 less than what I paid last year!
